Please note that Merri Creek Primary School only accepts enrolment applications for the current school year, and for Foundation enrolments for the following year. This ensures we can plan carefully to meet the needs of our students and maintain balanced class structures.

Our school zone
Our school zone is available on Find my School which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Your school zone is determined based on your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy Enrolment: Policy | VIC.GOV.AU | Policy and Advisory Library to ensure that students have access to their local school. Out of zone enrolment placements are offered where there are available places. An application form should be submitted. Siblings are given first option, then it is based on distance from the school.

2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolments
All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government primary school.
You can apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) in 2027 from Monday 20 April 2026.
What you need to do:
Tours are available from 9.30am-11am on Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th, Thursday 7th, Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th May.
This includes a student guided tour around the school facilities followed by an information presentation delivered by school leadership.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026.
Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Enrolment Policy.
Documentation required for Foundation enrolment (2027)
When enrolling your child in Foundation for 2027, the Victorian Department of Education (DET) requires families to provide the following documentation as part of the enrolment process:
All documentation must be provided before an enrolment can be finalised. The school may request original documents or certified copies as part of the verification process.
Other year level enrolments
We also accept enrolment applications for students in other year levels. You can submit a request at any time in the school year.
Eligible students who live within our school zone are guaranteed a place, while students outside the zone may be enrolled if there are available places.
